In their usual charity work during Ramadan, the Pakistani community supported the needy as their new leadership continues to strengthen ties with the people of Lango. Pakistanis living in Lira City provided assistance to vulnerable people by giving essential items to help improve their livelihoods in the Lango sub-region.
The president of the Pakistani Association in Lira, Uganda, Mian Muhammad Nasir, who succeeded Atique Nawaz in December Last Year, was represented at the event by the vice president, Islam Khan. Together with members of the Pakistani community in Lira City, they distributed items such as sugar, soap, rice, posho flour, and cooking oil to people in need, including both Muslims and Christians. The event was held at the Pakistani premises along Kwania Road in Lira City on Sunday.
The Mayor of Lira City, Sam Atul, welcomed the support from the Pakistani community, noting that it was not the first time they had extended such help. He encouraged the people of Lango to emulate the example set by the Pakistanis in supporting the needy and strengthening community solidarity.

Islam Khan, the vice president of the Pakistani Association in Lira, explained that the charity support is organized every year during the holy month of Ramadan as part of their commitment to helping vulnerable people.
Aisha Bin Abdul, who mobilized the community, expressed appreciation to the Pakistani community for supporting both Muslims and other vulnerable groups in the area.

She also raised concern about the challenges faced by disabled women, noting that many are abandoned by their able-bodied husbands, leaving them in difficult conditions.
Beneficiaries who received the assistance expressed gratitude to the Pakistani community in Lira for their continued generosity and support.
