Israel Pushes Into Lebanon as War With Hezbollah Expands. Reporting from Al Jazeera indicates that Israel is significantly intensifying its military campaign against Hezbollah, with plans to extend its control deeper into southern Lebanon.

Israeli forces have launched a ground offensive northward, targeting areas up to the Litani River, approximately 30 miles into the Lebanese territory. Officials describe the operation as strategic and long-term, with indications that the area may be occupied for months rather than weeks.

The campaign has involved sustained airstrikes, destruction of infrastructure such as bridges, and widespread evacuation orders. Entire Regions in southern Lebanon have been depopulated, with hundreds of thousands displaced.

Reports from cities like Tyre show residential buildings reduced to rubble, with civilians fleeing amid ongoing bombardment.

Israeli leadership has outlined a broader objective: establishing a new effective boundary at the Litani River. Five bridges on the river have been destroyed by Israeli strikes.

Statements from senior officials suggest that returning civilians may be prevented, with homes and villages near the border being systematically demolished.

At the same time, Hezbollah continues to retaliate. The group claims to have targeted Israeli Troops and equipment, including tanks. Hezbollah and Iran have also struck Israeli cities causing deaths and injuries.

The scale of mobilization underscores the seriousness of the escalation. Israel is reportedly preparing to call up hundreds of thousands of reserve soldiers, signaling a prolonged and expanded conflict.

As fighting intensifies on both sides of the border, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah is increasingly merging into the broader regional confrontation involving Iran, raising fears of a sustained and far-reaching Middle East crisis.
