LIRA CITY. Rt. Rev. Prof. Alfred Olwa, the 3rd diocesan bishop of the diocese of Lango, delivers a powerful Easter message centered on the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the foundation of the Christian faith.
Drawing from the Gospel of Luke (Luke 24:5–6), he reminds believers that Christ is risen and alive, making Easter not just a tradition but the greatest event in human history.
He explains that while Christmas proclaims Christ’s coming and Good Friday His death, Easter declares His eternal life.
The bishop emphasizes that the resurrection signifies victory over sin, noting that Christ’s rising proves that the sacrifice for sin was accepted, echoing the teaching in First Epistle to the Corinthians 15:17 that without the resurrection, faith would be futile.
Because Christ lives, believers receive forgiveness, healing, peace, and are made children of God.
He further highlights that Easter represents victory over death, which is humanity’s greatest fear.

He concludes by extending Easter blessings to all people, including the sick, prisoners, and various communities, wishing them a peaceful and joyous Easter filled with renewed life in Christ.
