Museveni Rewarded Lango, He Deserves Flowers – Ogweng

If there was a name all NRM diehards were waiting to see on the Cabinet list, it was that of Hon. Sam Engola.

WHY H.E Y.K MUSEVENI DESERVES FLOWERS FOR APPOINTING FOUR MINISTERS OR THREE MINISTERS AND A GOVERNMENT CHIEF WHIP FROM LANGO

On 15th Jan 2026, Uganda went to the polls with clear determinination to renew the mandate of political leadership but, also to reaffirm commitment to the democratic values entrenched in the governance of Uganda under the NRM led by H.E Y.K.T Museveni.

For 40 years now, Uganda has seen the deepening of its democracy and elective politics and, after every election, the President faces an uphill task to choose from among his cohort of leaders fit to carry the mantle of Ministerial duties.

In Lango, there has been a growing shift in voting pattern with the NRM enjoying exponential growth in its support base as seen from results of the last election with H.E the President bagging 84%, the highest in Lango’s voting record, a serious testament of the love and admiration deeply entrenched for the old Man with a hat.

A CORRUPTION-FREE PARLIAMENT

As the dust from the election begun to settle, serious considerations and political waves begun to hoover over Uganda, this time for the very good of the country we all call our motherland.

These political waves begun to shake the very centerpiece of our democracy—the Parliament. It will be recalled that what begun as political theatrics from the country’s Justice Minister, the Hon. Nobert Mao, soon became a matter that caused serious balance of power within the Parliamentary establishment and, all these have metarmorphosed into what we are now calling a corruption-free Parliament under a new government called “kisanja No Sleep”, thanks to His Excellency.

THE PLU IMPACT

A careful look at the current political trends both at the Legislature and the Executive begs the question: “How did we arrive here?”

Ugandans are increasingly embracing the PLU as a civic organization under the leadership of our foremost Patriot, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerogaba, fondly called Gen MK.

The PLU will always be credited for the craftsmanship of the current phase of our country given the fact that the good General has wonderful Commanders like the Hon Daudi Kabanda who do not only do good home work but, speaks truth to power with precision akin to Israeli missiles heading towards Lebanon.

The PLU that begun as a loose civic organization by voluntary desire and patriotism steadily found a living room in the hearts of many Ugandans as a result of the careful calibrations of Uganda’s political class right from Parliamentary Avenue to the Cabinet.

I take the honour in this dossier to pay tribute to General MK:

Thank you Afande MK, Comrade Kabanda, the workaholic PLU G.S, and PLU Plenum, for making the Father of our Revolution Gen Y.K.T Museveni to begin a steadfast yet, peaceful and graceful aging like old wine because our Patriot the Gen. MK is not sleeping on the job of Senior Presidential Advisor for “Special Operations”.

Many had indeed not understood what special operations mean but, the craftsmanship of the new leadership at Parliament and the Cabinet is seen as forward-thinking and future-ready.

Thank you, Your Excellency for blessing Uganda with Gen MK and yes, Gen. MK I fully appreciate you for being on point and up to speed with all the tasks but, most importantly for having by your side men and women of integrity to deepen the objectives of the revolution.

LANGO

His Excellency the President has blessed Lango with four Ministers or three Ministers and a Government Chief Whip and, we are grateful.

Your Excellency, possibly unknown to you is the fact that your appointment has cemented the very core of NRM principle of cardres identification, carders training and placement.

While many may not publicly tell you, but as a cardre of the NRM who has known no other party, these appointments are refreshing because it speaks to the fact that as a father, you value and reward loyalty and consistency.

HON. ENGOLA SAM: THE NRM FULCRUM

The Hon. Sam Engola, the enduring symbol of patriotism, is the fulcrum of NRM strength in Lango and many of us, the young turks, are inspired by seeing him valiantly steer the NRM Bus to all corners of Lango mobilizing for the party, including many times suffering in the hands of the defunct “Lira Boys” who would stop at nothing to discredit NRM in Lango at the time and, as a result Hon. Sam Engola failed election countless times; his unwavering commitment kept the NRM Bus running.

If there was a name all NRM diehards were waiting to see on the Cabinet list, it was that of Hon. Sam Engola.

The NRM Mzee Sam Engola led differed quite a bit from what had started being seen in recent days. It should be recalled that across the country there has begun a class of NRM leaders who view young NRM turks ignoringly.

These new breed of NRM self-seekers do not believe in healthy competition but, rather are preoccupied with the “unopposed ideology”.

This lot of self-seekers cause significant discontent, resentment, disgruntlement and unwanted friction within the NRM.

Many NRM flag-bearers were neglected, ignored, abandoned and sidelined by the “unopposed ideology” self-seekers.

It should be noted that the breed of NRM leaders who view political competition as war usually frame their suspect with names unfamiliar to politics including calling them poor, ambitious, unfit and not ready for leadership, moles among others and as a result they remain the only “holy NRM members”.

These breed of leaders have caused untold suffering to young politicians who are passionate about the NRM and the future of Uganda.

In a number of instances, many energetic and vibrant NRM carders who should have made it to Parliament and District councils have been disenfranchised by these self-seekers and are currently nursing political wounds in villages across Uganda, Lango inclusive.

Hon. Sam Engola didn’t subscribe to these style of NRM leadership but, rather he was a mentor and holistic mobilizer who brought all classes of people to the NRM.

The appointment of the Ministers from Lango now ring a loud bell because His Excellency has taken with keen interest the principle of NRM ideology on cardreship placement and identification.

The “Kisanja No Sleep” is surely a development trailblazer for Lango and Uganda!
